Krookodile reaches 466 Speed with a Choice Scarf, which outspeeds everything up to Dragon Dance Kingdra with the appropriate nature. Earthquake is Krookodile's most powerful STAB move, but is very dangerous to get locked into due to the various immunities to Ground-type moves throughout the tier. Crunch is another STAB move, which gets good coverage alongside Earthquake, and although weaker, is much safer to use. Stone Edge revenge kills Flying-types, while Pursuit is used in the last slot to trap and KO Pokemon such as Victini, Azelf, and Mismagius, which can really open up holes for Krookodile's team.

Moxie is preferred to gain Attack boosts, which can let Krookodile sweep a weakened team late in the game, but Intimidate is a viable option to allow Krookodile to switch into physical attackers more easily. Jolly is the best nature for Krookodile, as the added Speed lets it outspeed Jolly Kingdra after one Dragon Dance, but Adamant can be used for the extra power. Good teammates for Krookodile include those that enjoy having Ghost- and Psychic-types out of the way, as Krookodile dispatches of those quite easily with Pursuit. Fighting-types such as Heracross and Cobalion are great options to take advantage of the lack of these Pokemon. Krookodile itself wants teammates to deal with opponents that resist or are immune to Ground-type moves, as spamming Earthquake is dangerous while those are around. Slowbro and Suicune are good teammates to handle Flygon, as well as Gligar, while Zapdos can beat Togekiss and other Flying-types, as well as bulky Water-types that can check Choice Scarf Krookodile. Nidoking can work as well, helping check Heracross that lack Earthquake.

Krookodile deals heavy damage to most Pokemon in the tier when holding a Choice Band, sporting a combination of attacks that is incredibly hard to wall. Earthquake and Crunch are obvious choices, as they are powerful STAB moves that combine for great coverage. Even bulky Water-types have trouble taking Choice Band-boosted Earthquakes. Stone Edge adds more coverage as well, hitting Flying-types for super effective damage. Lastly, Pursuit is used to trap and KO Ghost- and Psychic-types, which is one of Krookodile's best traits.

Intimidate is the main option for Choice Band Krookodile, as it usually isn't fast enough without a Choice Scarf to take advantage of the boosts that Moxie provides. Against slower teams, however, Moxie can be useful, and is also an option to consider. An Adamant nature provides Krookodile extra power, but a Jolly nature can be used to allow Krookodile to outspeed Roserade and Rotom-A, as well as Adamant Arcanine. Fighting-types such as Heracross and Cobalion are good teammates to take advantage of Krookodile's ability to KO Psychic- and Ghost-types. Fast sweepers such as Weavile and Mismagius are also useful here, as Krookodile weakens the opponent's walls quite effectively. Lastly, Zapdos is a useful teammate, as it can beat Flying-types, and a decent amount of Pokemon with Levitate as well.

Krookodile has enough bulk to take neutral physical moves after one use of Bulk Up, meaning that it can be used quite effectively to try to sweep. Earthquake and Stone Edge combine for great coverage as usual, and are Krookodile's main attacking options. Crunch is the main choice in the last slot for the extra STAB move, which is quite helpful if Krookodile has multiple boosts against an opponent such as Flygon. Taunt is also a decent option, as it prevents status and phazing from walls that try to stall Krookodile.

Intimidate is the best option, as it helps Krookodile when switching in. Moxie can be used for the extra Attack boosts, but Intimidate has more overall utility. an Adamant nature is best for the boost to Krookodile's power, but Jolly is always an option for the added Speed against threats sitting at or just below 90 base Speed. Bulky Water- and Grass-types are the biggest threats to this set. Celebi can take on most bulky Water-types, even taking most Ice Beams thanks to its great bulk. Arcanine is another good teammate for Krookodile for its ability to check Grass-types. Fighting-types also check this Krookodile, being able to deal major damage even after a Bulk Up boost. Mew is a solid option to check most Fighting-types.

    Altre Opzioni

An Expert Belt is usable on Krookodile to bluff a Choice Scarf and, while risky, it can work on the surprise value alone. Hone Claws can be used to boost Krookodile's Attack, but it is a bit to frail to use it effectively. Bulk Up is also superior to Hone Claws, meaning that is not a worthwhile choice. Rock Slide is an option if Stone Edge's accuracy is too low to be desired, but it lacks much-needed power. Counter is an interesting gimmick with a Focus Sash to take out a threat such as Heracross. Toxic is always an option, hitting opponents such as Gligar that lack Immunity. Substitute and Torment are gimmicky but usable moves, stopping Pokemon that have only one move to hit Krookodile with.

    Controlli e Counters

Flygon is immune to Earthquake and resists Rock-type moves, dealing good damage even with neutral STAB moves. Suicune and Milotic can take an Earthquake and deal massive damage with Water-type attacks. Shaymin does a similar job against Crunch, using Seed Flare to KO Krookodile. Heracross resists Ground- and Dark-type attacks, while Krookodile is weak to both of its STAB options. Gligar easily takes any of Krookodile's attacks other than the rare Toxic, and can stall it out effectively.

    Mondo Dei Sogni

Krookodile receives Anger Point from the Dream World. Krookodile can't survive most critical hits anyway, and the ability is too unreliable to count on. It's amazing when it works, but Moxie and Intimidate are much more reliable options.
