Let's forget for a moment that Ursaring's Attack is already massive and that he has other issues to cope with. Let's instead assume that, when you have 394 Attack, you want to power it up even further to crush enemy bones and flatten villages. Ursaring's Swords Danced Returns easily knock a third off Skarmory's HP at once, which is a lot more than most physical attackers can say, especially considering Skarmory resists Return. Swords Dancing Ursaring is probably your best bet if your opponent is relying on slower Pokémon to wall you, and more effective in late-game than, say, Choice Band Ursaring.

Body Slam is a great alternative to Return, as Ursaring is rather slow and will enjoy the potential for paralysis support. Most of the time you will be trying to "fish" on the switches to nail faster Pokémon weak to your moves. Earthquake for Steels that aren't up in the air (Metagross, Magnezone) as well as Tyranitar. Fire Punch smacks around Bronzong, Skarmory and Forretress and OHKOes Gengar after a Swords Dance, hence the reason that Crunch is not listed on this set. Dusknoir doesn't present a problem, since he can't cripple Ursaring with a burn (thanks to Guts) and boosted Earthquakes can take him out.

Although Quick Feet is cool for patching up his low Speed, it requires EV investment to make the most of. You can't switch into Will-O-Wisp either. Guts means Dusknoir and Weezing will have a hard time stopping an Ursaring rampage, and allows for more investment in HP, to give him some more staying power.

Another set that takes Ursaring's great Attack and makes it overkill. You'll have to rely even more on prediction, but get a greater payoff whenever you get it right. Unlike with the Swords Dancer, you have access to a fourth attacking move, meaning very little can afford to switch into this with any degree of safety.

Either ability works here. Guts gives you the opportunity to absorb all status (barring sleep), while Quick Feet can give you a much welcomed Speed boost if you switch into Toxic Spikes or Thunder Wave. If you opt for Guts, then focusing your EVs in HP is recommended. If you want Quick Feet, then maxing out Speed is the way to go and you may want to switch from Adamant to Jolly.

Ursaring running around with 343 Speed and STAB Facade is a frightening prospect. Failing to guarantee you will outrun Infernape is unfortunate, but you might get the drop on a few who use just enough Speed to outrun Adamant Dugtrio. This plays somewhat like a Choice Scarf Ursaring would, except you have the freedom to switch attacks. Swords Dance allows you to attempt a late-game sweep, which is probably the most effective use of this set. If Ursaring manages to get in a Swords Dance, then your opponent better have either something faster that can KO him, or it could very well mean game over. Swords Dance Facade will kill almost everything that doesn't resist it in a single hit.

Unless you have a lot of Wish support, don't expect this Ursaring to last long, since he's not only losing Leftovers recovery, but also being worn down by poison each turn.

Unlike all the sets listed above, this is an attempt at letting Ursaring live a little longer than a mere six seconds. Dish out hits until you're getting tired, then take a nap and heal those wounds. Ursaring is the Hibernator Pokémon after all. Sleep status will keep Guts intact, so whenever you select an attacking move, it will hurt quite a bit. Double-Edge is affordable on this kind of set because of the HP recovery, but Body Slam and Return are still recommended. Body Slam offers a nice paralysis chance, which is good for Ursaring because he's not the fastest one out there, especially not with these EVs.

The second attacking option depends on what you want to cover. Earthquake takes out Rock-types and earthbound Steels, but leaves you helpless against Bronzong, Skarmory, and Levitating Ghosts. Fire Punch means you'll have trouble with Rock-types, but it does cover all Steel-types and hurts Gengar and Mismagius too. Hammer Arm covers both Rocks and Steels, even wearing down Skarmory and Bronzong, but leaves Ursaring totally useless against Ghosts.

    Altre Opzioni

In an attempt to keep the sets a little readable, a lot of good moves have been left out. Basically, everything listed has a viable alternative.

Facade was listed on the Quick Feet set, but it can work on others if you get Ursaring hit with a burn, paralysis or poison. Note how it doesn't work when you're put to sleep, so don't use it on the Sleep Talker. Double-Edge is obviously not a good idea on a sweeping Ursaring, he doesn't need more help at dying quickly.

Besides Crunch, Ursaring gets Shadow Claw, Night Slash, and Payback to kill Ghosts with. Night Slash is basically the same as Shadow Claw except that Heracross resists Night Slash, but then again Normal-types are immune to Shadow Claw. Payback will be 100 Base Power whenever Ursaring goes second, 50 otherwise. It's also 100 Base Power when used on the switch, making it a very good alternative should you be running an Ursaring with few Speed EVs and Guts.

Besides Hammer Arm, Ursaring gets three cool Fighting moves: Close Combat, Cross Chop, and Focus Punch. They can assist in your quest to eliminate Skarmory and Tyranitar quickly, but each of them have some kind of drawback (defense lowering, inaccuracy, tendency to fail whenever Ursaring gets hit, respectively). Pick what you see fit. Note how Focus Punch does just as much to Skarmory as Fire Punch does though.

ThunderPunch can be used if you really hate Gyarados and still reaches that 150 Base Power against Skarmory. Stone Edge gives you more power than Return against most Flying-types, particularly Aerodactyl. Counter is a good surprise action from Ursaring, he actually has the HP and Defense to pull it off when EVed correctly. Don't expect too much from the same Ursaring after a good Counter though. Bulk Up is there if you want to tank a little with Ursaring, but that is just a way to make it look inferior to Snorlax (who actually has the Special Defense to pull off a similar set, but with Curse of course), and we wouldn't want that. Aerial Ace is an OHKO on Breloom/Heracross switches, but completely useless whenever you have some kind of Attack boost as Return will more than suffice then. Yawn is interesting to force switches. Taunt stops Skarmory and Bronzong from setting up with Spikes, Stealth Rock, Hypnosis, etc.

    EV

For most sets, the EV spreads are rather simple. For the Choice Band, Sleep Talk and Swords Dance sets simply max out Attack and HP. This can help him live through Dugtrio and some other attacks, letting him get in one more harsh blow before going down. Without Quick Feet active Ursaring is too slow to make Speed EVs worthwhile in most cases. However, you can invest 128 EVs if you want to be faster than most Skarmory, preventing the metal bird finishing off a weakened Ursaring with Brave Bird before he gets a chance to attack. This is not always desirable though: you may want to be slower than Skarmory so you can Earthquake or use a Fighting move during Roosts (so you hit for super effective damage).

On the Quick Feet set, Jolly versus Adamant is a sort of tough case. With Adamant, your maximum Speed is 209. With Quick Feet activated, that puts you at 313, which is barely short of beating max Speed Houndoom and Electivire, for example. Jolly, however, puts you at 229, making it 343 after one Speed boost. This can make a pretty big difference: you can now outspeed Azelf that don't use a Speed boosting nature, you will beat Adamant Dugtrio and perhaps even a slightly low-edged Gengar or Infernape.

Moral of the story: a lot is possible, as long as you max Attack.

    Considerazioni

Ursaring deserves a big hug from everyone, though he may end up breaking your bones in the process. His Attack score is magnificent, and with Guts, Swords Dance, and a very, very huge physical movepool to complement it, he's one badass bear about which you can't just say "hey, I got an Ursaring counter!". His HP and defenses are decent; his only real issue is the 55 base Speed that prevents him from sweeping. The addition of Quick Feet and Choice Scarf as possibilities help him a bit, but overall Ursaring ends up as a tad too vulnerable to sweep. He is great to punish slow teams with, but expect him to get forced to switch out or die quite a lot to all these fast hard-hitters.

    Counter

Being a Normal-type with a diverse movepool, you'll need to know Ursaring's set a bit before you can go about countering him. He can hurt anything in the game, but luckily for whoever is trying to fight him, he can be overcome pretty quickly with some kind of sweeper like Azelf or Gyarados, even if he kills something before that.

Gengar and Mismagius are immune to Normal and Fighting moves in addition to Earthquake, so they get in pretty easily on the Choice Bander. Just don't ever let them eat Choice Band Fire Punch or one of those Ghostbuster moves Big Teddy packs. Both of them are faster though, so they can hit him quite hard. Obviously, don't Will-O-Wisp a Guts Ursaring, or hit a Quick Feet version with Thunder Wave or Toxic. Dusknoir should keep that Will-O-Wisp comment in mind.

Rock- and Steel-types tend to have pretty high Defense to ward off Ursaring's powerful assaults. For the former you have Rhyperior as a pretty good counter, as thanks to Solid Rock he won't even take much damage from Earthquake. Probopass, Aggron, and Bastiodon are jolly good switches into a Choice Banded Normal move or "the Ghostbusters", but Earthquake and Fighting moves spell their demise. Regirock has massive Defense as well and can Counter or Curse if he needs to go toe to toe.

Bronzong with Levitate can take all kinds of hits except Fire Punch (and perhaps repeated Fighting battering), whereas ones with Heatproof have a much better time against Ursaring as long as he's not using Earthquake. The former is much more likely. Skarmory can take most hits reasonably well and Roost off the damage. Whirlwinding away those Swords Dances is very handy too, something that Bronzong can't do. Steelix does this to a lesser extent; however, he's got more trouble due to Fighting and Ground weaknesses. Lucario resists Normal, Ghost, and Dark and actually gets Fighting STAB to hit Ursaring below the belt.
