This is the best set Lumineon can muster, using double STAB and double Speed to have any hope of causing damage. 260 Special Attack might not be much, but with the rain and Life Orb boosting Surfs power even further, it can do some serious damage. Ice Beam is one of the better moves in the game and adds more coverage to Lumineon’s move set, allowing you to do more damage to Grass-types; though Blizzard is mentioned as Lumineon needs all the power it can get, if you’re willing to risk the lower accuracy. Hidden Power Electric and Hidden Power Grass are for hitting other Water-types. Hidden Power Electric will do more to Pokémon such as Pelipper and Mantine, while Hidden Power Grass will do more to Pokémon like Whiscash.

The EVs are chosen for the following reasons: Lumineon needs as much Special Attack as it can get, so Modest nature and max Special Attack EVs are always advised. 128 Speed EVs will allow Lumineon to outpace all base 100 Speed Pokémon in the rain - even if they have boosting natures and Choice Scarves - though these can be edited to beat slower enemies if you’d prefer more HP or defenses, or increased further to beat even faster Pokémon still if you so wish. 120 HP EVs gives Lumineon a 309 HP stat, which allows it to wield 11 uses of Life Orb instead of the usual 10. The only reason the remaining EVs are placed in another stat is because adding 8 EVs to HP will leave you with 1 HP after 10 Life Orb usage, and more Speed isn’t really necessary.

    Altre Opzioni

Lumineon doesn’t really have too many notable alternate moves. U-turn is a useful one, as it’s always nice to be able to scout for counters, but finding a space for it in a move set is difficult. Status-wise, the only worthwhile move Lumineon has is Toxic, which can be nice to hit incoming Water-types. Charm can weaken incoming physical attackers, and Safeguard will grant you and your other team members immunity to status. Hyper Beam can be used for a last ditch effort to beat something. Choice Specs can be a decent item, but it's advised you set up Rain Dance with another team member if you want to use it. Damp Rock can work to provide longer rain if you can deal with the less power that comes with foregoing a Life Orb.

    EVs

EV-wise, Lumineon always needs 252 Special Attack and a Modest nature. You’ll usually be using Life Orb, so making sure your HP ends in an odd number can allow you 11 attacks instead of 10. Though more HP is perfectly fine if you want to be more bulky, as with Swift Swim it’s unlikely many things will be faster than you. Reaching 500 Speed after Rain Dance allows you to beat base 100 Speed Pokémon using a boosting nature and a Choice Scarf. You could lower it to beat base 100s with a neutral nature and Choice Scarf, or even slower Pokémon, should you wish too.

    Considerazioni

Lumineon is outclassed by pretty much every other Swift Swim Pokémon out there, inferior to even the likes of Seaking. Lumineon is rather cute for a fish, though.

    Counters

Most Grass- and Water-types with decent Special Defense will be able to survive a few hits from Lumineon and KO back with super effective moves if possible. Physical attacks are more of a worry for Lumineon as its base Defense is lower than its Special Defense. If you need specific counters, Walrein and Lapras will be able to take many attacks thanks to their huge base HP and good defenses. Gastrodon, Quagsire, and Whiscash are good counters if Lumineon lacks Hidden Power Grass, especially Quagsire as it can have Water Absorb. Wailord is another Water-type that shouldn’t find dealing with Lumineon too difficult, thanks to its massive HP stat. Lanturn can take everything rather easily, even Hidden Power Grass, and can KO with STAB super effective Thunderbolt. Meganium and Vileplume are some Grass-types with good defenses that can take a few Ice Beams and KO with STAB super effective Grass moves.
