When you choose to use Assistant Furret, it is your responsibility to fill your team with all sorts of ridiculous attacks, namely strong, potentially deadly, and/or ridiculous moves such as Spore, Belly Drum, and AncientPower, as well as moves for Pokémon who have high defenses and manage to resist both Normal and Ghost moves. Remember that Assist pulls moves from even Pokémon who have already fainted. This moveset is not for the faint of heart; if you don't like tempting Lady Fate, steer clear of the Assistant.

Unlike the Trickster, whose main goal is to get Choice Band onto an opposing Pokémon, this one simply wants to use the item in all its glory. Unlike most other Choice Banders where the main goal is to have a diversified set of attacks to cover possible counter-switches, Choice Band Furret's moves are for limiting the options available to the opponent in addition to using the added attack power from Choice Band to boost Furret's offense. Focus Punch and Pursuit are good for predicting switches, while U-turn completely takes the mystery out of that dilemma. Sucker Punch is a solid move for hitting opponents who think they can beat you through with their higher Speed.

Furret has the benefit of being a fairly speedy little critter, and so it can get the jump on a fair number of opponents and force a Choice item onto them. The other moves are there to play mind games with the opponent once you've tricked the item on. Sucker Punch + Focus Punch places your opponent in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation, though keep in mind that Furret still isn't that strong on offense. You can replace one of the last two moveslots with Protect to scout for any strong attacks that may result from placing a Choice item on something that can actually take advantage of it. Choice Scarf allows you to outspeed more Pokémon, while Choice Band allows Furret to actually do good damage if you decide to hold off on using Trick.

The EVs listed are for the Choice Scarf version. If you're using Choice Band instead, use a 168 Atk / 88 Def / 252 Spe Jolly spread.

    Altre Opzioni

Furret has a very impressive movepool worthy of its Normal typing, though perhaps not the stats to use them. On the physical side it learns ThunderPunch, Ice Punch and Fire Punch, which can all find their place on the Choice Band set. Furret's Special Attack is terrible, but the number of options available (Surf, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Fire Blast, Grass Knot, among others) are still an option for taking down high-Defense, low-Special Defense Pokémon who are especially weak to those attacks, e.g. Skarmory, Golem. Furret also learns Baton Pass. Though it doesn't have many moves worth passing beyond Substitute or Amnesia, it's also another option for manipulating switches, and unlike U-turn Baton Pass doesn't have to worry about not working due to missing. Furret's decent Speed means Me First is not a completely terrible option. Note that a number of Furret's good attacks (Pursuit, Covet, Charm, Reversal, Assist) are all egg moves, and that the key to getting them all at once is Smeargle. On the Trickster set, you can try to use Choice Specs in case you think giving additional Speed to your opponent via Choice Scarf is still too powerful a bonus for physical attackers.

    EV

Furret generally wants to pump significant EVs into Attack and Speed, its two best stats. However, if you're Tricking items onto your opponent, you may want to give some defensive EVs to Furret so it has a chance of surviving a boosted attack. Very few attacks won't leave Furret for dead, but a little bit of Defense might just come in handy.

    Considerazioni

Furret is not especially powerful, but the sheer number of options available to it makes Furret quite an unpredictable Pokémon. While it is lacking power to take on some of the big boys of Pokémon, against lesser opponents Furret's mind games can leave them flustered. In most cases, regardless of the opponents Furret is facing, the goal is to limit the opponent's options and give opportunities for heavier hitters to come in and do their jobs. Furret might go down pretty quickly, but it'll do so in a blaze of comedic glory.

    Counter

In any tier, the main threat to Furret will be Pokémon who already have or do not mind Choice items, notably Fighting-types due to being able to score super effective damage while resisting bug and dark attacks and being able to throw out the occasional Mach Punch. Heracross in Standard is especially threatening, due to it frequently having Choice Band or Choice Scarf anyway, while in other tiers Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Hitmontop will give Furret grief. The threat is less from specific Pokémon, and more from basically neutralizing the whole purpose of Furret.
