Chatot's typing gives it immunities to Ground and Ghost, and this set uses them to Chatot's advantage. Switch in on a move that you are immune to or an opponent's support move such as Substitute, Encore it, then boost up. Hyper Voice is for powerful STAB, and 2HKOs anything that doesn't resist it in UU. The last move is for coverage. Heat Wave hits Ghosts such as Rotom, as well as Steelix. Hidden Power Water, on the other hand, manages super-effective hits on Steelix and Aggron as well as Solrock and Lunatone while still keeping the ability to hit Ghosts such as Rotom.Nome Moveset Strumento Abilitŕ Natura Congiura&3 Attacchi Assorbisfera Intricopiedi / Sguardofermo Timida Mosse EVs ~ Congiura

With three attacks and Nasty Plot, Chatot has the potential to cause a ton of damage in UU. After a Nasty Plot, Hyper Voice is strong enough to eliminate anything that doesn't resist it. Pokemon such as Hypno, Grumpig, and Mantine (the premier special walls of UU) are all 2HKOed by Hyper Voice after a Nasty Plot. The last two moves are meant to deal with the things that resist Hyper Voice, namely Ghost, Rock, and Steel-Types. Heat Wave is a powerful neutral coverage attack, covering Steels and Ghosts, as well as common bulky Grass-types prevalent in UU. Finally, Hidden Power Water, after a Nasty Plot, scores an OHKO on Aggron, Solrock, Lunatone, and a 2HKO on Probopass. Hidden Power Fighting scores an OHKO on Probopass, and also is the most powerful move that Chatot can use against Cradily and the Rock/Water-types.
The EVs listed provide 301 Speed after Hidden Power, enough to outspeed Jolly Hitmonlee as well as neutral base 100 Pokemon. They also provide 299 HP, a magic Life Orb number.Nome Moveset Strumento Abilitŕ Natura LentiScelta Lentiscelta Intricopiedi / Sguardofermo Modesta / Timida Mosse EVs ~ Gran Voce

While Nasty Plot does pack a lot of power, Choice Specs allows Chatot to boost its Special Attack without needing to set up. This can catch many of Chatot's regular counters off-guard if they expect to come in on a Nasty Plot or an Encore. Hyper Voice is a powerful and reliable STAB move. Once again, Heat Wave is neutral coverage on Rotom, as well as hitting super effective on Steelix and bulky Grass-types such as Meganium. Hidden Power Water OHKOs Aggron, Solrock, and Lunatone, though it misses the 2HKO on Probopass. Finally, the last attack is a matter of preference. U-turn allows for scouting with this set, while Chatter can provide secondary STAB, the chance of confusion, and coverage on Fighting-types such as Hitmontop that can switch in against Chatot.Nome Moveset Strumento Abilitŕ Natura SostiBacca Baccasalak / Baccapitaya Intricopiedi / Sguardofermo Modesta / Timida Mosse EVs ~ Sostituto

Chatot's respectable Base 91 Speed can often let it down, as many things such as Choice Scarf Hitmonlee and Ninetales can come in and put an end to Chatot's sweep. A SubSalac set can help with that in a number of ways. First, behind a Substitute, Chatot can fire relatively damaging attacks and wear its counters down, as well as preventing a status infliction. Second, if allowed to get a Nasty Plot and a Salac boost, Chatot's sweeping potential is enormous. Hyper Voice's reliable power and STAB returns here, as well as the excellent coverage of Heat Wave or Hidden Power Water alongside it.
An alternate build is to run a Modest Chatot, Substitute on the switch, then Agility and use the boosted speed to Substitute down to Petaya Berry range. While this set packs less power, it still has a very respectable 466 Special Attack for offense.Altre Opzioni
Chatter is Chatot's signature move, and provides secondary STAB. However, given Flying's redundant coverage with Fire, as well as Chatter's low Base Power, it's hard to find space for it.
Ominous Wind can be used to hit Rotom, Solrock, and Lunatone, as well as provide the small chance of raising Chatot's stats, but its low base power and low PP can be off-putting.
Substitute is also an option to be used in tandem with Nasty Plot to gain free boosts and block status.
Sing's shaky accuracy will let you down more often than not, but it can cripple switch-ins and let Chatot beat its counters if it hits.EVs
Max Speed and Special Attack is used on the Encore and SubSalac sets, as Chatot doesn't need much outside of that. A secondary spread of 28 HP/252 SpA/228 Spe with Timid reaches 301 Speed, which outpaces most Pokemon in Chatot's Speed tier, as well as providing 299 HP, a magic Life Orb number. While the changes may be negligible, Chatot's reliance on Hidden Power means it will never tie with Timid Rotom, meaning that it's better off getting what little survival it can from HP.Opzioni
At first glance, Chatot comes off like the Farfetch'd of the fourth generation. However, access to moves like Encore and Nasty Plot, as well as respectable Base 92 Special Attack and Base 91 Speed mean that Chatot has plenty of potential in the UU environment. Its movepool may be shallow, but Hyper Voice, Heat Wave, and Hidden Power provide almost everything that Chatot needs. After a Nasty Plot boost, Chatot is capable of absolutely demolishing the current UU metagame, 2HKOing even the most defensive of special walls, and OHKOing most offensive Pokemon.Counters
Chatot's power is such that it is difficult to counter. Even the most defensive of special walls, 252/252 Calm Grumpig, Hypno, and Mantine, are all 2HKOed by a Nasty Plotted Hyper Voice. That said, the best way to counter Chatot is through a combination of Speed and power. Ninetales makes one of the best counters, as long as it comes in on a non-damaging move or Heat Wave. However, if it comes in on any attack other than Heat Wave on the Specs set, it is easily OHKOed if Stealth Rock is down. Hitmontop can come in using its high Special Defense and hit Chatot hard with Mach Punch, though non-Technician Mach Punch will not OHKO. Absol can Sucker Punch Chatot, though it risks Sucker Punch being Encored and being set up on. Choice Scarfed Pokemon in general also do well if they can come in on the Nasty Plot. Soundproof Electrode can switch into Hyper Voice (and to a lesser extent Chatter) for free and OHKO with Thunderbolt and 140 Base Speed, but cannot switch in on Heat Wave or Hidden Power Water.
Special mention goes to Corsola for resisting the entirety of the standard Chatot's movepool and having good Special Defense with which to take the hits. A special defense-oriented Corsola is a 100% counter to any set not packing Hidden Power Fighting.
