Beautifly has only one stat remotely resembling "decent", and that's Special Attack, so try this if you want it to do any damage at all. Hidden Power Ground is mostly for Mawile and other Steels Beautifly may run into.Nome Moveset Strumento Abilitŕ Natura Spore Paralizzanti Avanzi / Focalnastro Aiutinsetto Modesta Mosse EVs ~ Ronzio

Paralyze anything you can with Stun Spore and attempt to hurt stuff with Bug Buzz. Shadow Ball hits Rotom and Banette, while Psychic helps against Poison-types like Swalot. U-turn can give Beautifly a free, weak hit against a paralyzed foe, or scout for others.Nome Moveset Strumento Abilitŕ Natura Paralizza & Via! While at first a Swarm set on Beautifly may not look as effective as a Swarm set on Mothim, Beautifly has one key quality that Mothim lacks: Stun Spore. This quality allows Beautifly to paralyze faster opponents to support both itself and its team while preparing for a sweep. However, it is recommended that you do not replace Stun Spore for another attack otherwise it would be inferior to the same set on Mothim. The set works in a similar way to Swarm Mothim as it can only be successfully used once. This Beautifly should only be brought out late game on something like a Choice Close Combat. After Beautifly has switched in, continue to Substitute down to activate the Petaya Berry and Swarm. This gives Beautifly's Bug Buzz more power than a Modest Life Orb Deoxys-A's Psychic.
You may think that because Beautifly is of the Bug / Flying type it fears Stealth Rock, well this is false. In fact, Stealth Rock allows Beautifly to get the boost after one Substitute. If you can get Beautifly in on something that will switch out or is slower, your opponent's counter will then have to take on a Beautifly with 459 Special Attack and hiding safely behind a Substitute. Given the fact that Beautifly is so slow, the Substitute allows you to paralyze faster opponents with Stun Spore or bash them with Bug Buzz without taking any damage.
Beautifly's fourth move slot may be changed according to what your team fears most. Shadow Ball hits with Rotom and Drifblim for super effective damage, whereas Hidden Power Ground helps with Steelix and Probopass who you would otherwise fail against. Hidden Power Ground has more of a merit as most Roar users such as Steelix and Aggron are vulnerable to the incoming attack. Hidden Power Rock deserves a mention as it bashes the Normal / Flying Pokemon, whereas you could also use Hidden Power Ice, but it doesn't do much outside destroying Altaria. It is suggested that you use a 30 HP IV so you only have to Substitute three times instead of four or only once after Stealth Rock damage to activate both Swarm and the Petaya Berry.Altre Opzioni
Nothing really, Beautifly is way too fragile to attempt Roost or Whirlwind.EVs
Max Speed and Special Attack for the Choice Specs set. Max Special Attack on the Stun Spore set, but avoid maxing HP. Maxing HP gives Beautifly an even HP, causing it to faint on the second switch-in to Stealth Rock rather than surviving with 1 HP with a max odd HP.Considerazioni
It isn't the worst Bug-type around, but it is pretty close. Stun Spore and a usable Special Attack stat are the only positive things about Beautifly, which are worth very little when it dies so easily.Counters
Rotom resists Bug Buzz and easily KOes with Thunderbolt, but watch out for Choice Specs Shadow Ball. Any of the NU or UU Steel-types can take it quite easily. Just take advantage of its many weaknesses and terrible defenses; it'll die in no time at all. Stealth Rock strips it of 50% of its HP, so if you've got that on your side, Beautifly will be even easier to take down than it already is.
